RIIRIS601E-Publ
The RIIRIS601E unit describes the skills and knowledge required to establish and maintain the risk management system in the resources and infrastructure industries. It applies to those who work in management roles. They are generally responsible for the outcomes of others and contribute to the development of solutions to non-routine problems.

The unit includes:
  • establishing the framework processes to support the system;
  • planning and facilitating the implementation of the system
  • auditing the risk management processes and
  • ensuring completion of records and reports.

Introduction:

The Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committee lists the competency requirements of a Site Senior Executive to include:

A statutory legislation exam, as administered by the Board of Examiners, and
• RIIRIS601 (previously MNCG1003A) or
• MINE7033 or (Course provided by MISHC at University of Queensland)
• GMIRM (Course provided by MISHC at University of Queensland).

RIIRIS601 Establish and Maintain the Risk Management System is designed to enable persons who have supervisory, managerial or technical specialist roles, within the Australian mining industry, to enhance their competencies in Risk Management.

This unit of competency will build on each participant's existing experience and competency level, with a focus on the Risk Management skills and knowledge required to lead, manage and coordinate risk management system for a mine.

This course is for those who work in management roles and are generally responsible for the outcomes of others and contribute to the development of solutions to non-routine problems.
